Two Bugs (unknown if already reported)

I found these today, idk if theyre known. Ones small but annoying, the other is either a bug or an OP feature.

First bug is that the TEC loyalist Titan has a habit of activating its group shield power as soon as the cooldown expires... even when theres nothing hostile in the gravity well. I took mine off autocast it was doing it that often.

 

Second bug is more significant, but i couldnt quit nail what it was. This was late game, against an AI.

I send my fleet into an enemy gravity well; my fleet consisting of approximately:

1 Loyalist Titan.

1 Corsev, 1 Marza, 1 Sova.

30 Cobalts, 20 Javelis'.

2 Percherons.

Facing an enemy of fleet of 2 Dunovs, 2 Kols, 2 Marzas, 10 Javelis' and 5-10 Kodiaks.

All things considered, this should be an even battle. However, upon entering the gravity well (an asteroid, no starbase), all of my frigates almost completely lose their shields. My fleet was greatly decimated, though the capital ships only lost shields. This happened again after i retreated one planet and rebuilt my forces. this time i won, though it was close. My counter attack, with a stronger fleet with Kodiaks. Again, frigates lost shields and then were wiped out, but the Kodiaks were less affected.

Further information: the enemy were TEC Rebels.

 

If someone could clarify what has happened...

Sounds like you got EMP'd by the Dunovs.

Well, the Cobalt Light Frigates are pretty much cannon fodder past early game. I've pretty much have had to 'rush' to Kodiaks to have a decent offense.

Certain player once threatened to "officially" accuse another player of cheating because his fleet got vaporized by pre-nerf kosturas.

Omg lol, i meant Marza's..

But yes, this is very OP since only 2 level 4 dunovs cripple a much larger fleet (with most upgrades).

Dunovs are highly underrated (enter -Ue_Carbon) capital ships. When used right they can be down right nasty. Looks like the AI managed to pull off a combo with the Dunovs mixed with Marza's Radiation ability. Not sure as I don't have the hard numbers on it but get a replay (its automatically saved) of it and watch to see what the AI does. Wouldn't surprise me that this is what happened.

Ill look through my auto saves, but on last check, the auto saves are bugged- they were couting in twos and rarely saving?

EDIT: Def playing up, they save like once every hour and rarely at that.

I think it's funny that the AI uses its abilities effectively, and people assume it's a bug.

I've adjusted the autocast on Group Shield, thanks for the info. :)

For the losing shields one, we'd need a save game that reproduces the issue in order to tell what's happening.

Another autocasting issue i found VERY significant, was the Corsev Scuttle (targets friendly ships, they explode and damage the enemy) ability. It targeted and destroyed my ships in friendly gravity wells... with no enemies in sight.

Also, if your tweaking them, since youve disabled the Capture ability being able to convert buildings, could you make the Corsev prioritize enemy ships over turrets in combat, since its a waste to use it on buildings in combat, but can be very significant in battle. I also found this ability a little overpowered, as a level 1 capture ability will completely refresh its shields if the target is destroyed. Thus, even a vaguely inept player can target the dying ships in combat and instantly revive his Corsev. Maybe make the boost more staggered?

 

And ive got an autosave one planet before the bug, ill upload a proper save after i try take a path thats as close to the real thing as possible.

The Corsev autocast has been fixed internally.  We're checking into the save games. Thanks!

Awesome, i hope you can find the issue. Three times my groups of frigates have all lost shields- im no closer to finding out.
