Is WinFX 5 going to give us windows shadows? This is the feature I used most with WinFX (I am still on WinXP).

No.

Windows Vista and 7 already offer shadows and it simply isn't viable to add it just for XP.

You can continue to use WindowFX 3 if you wish to have shadows and it should coexist with WFX5 just fine.
