Enemy sovereign already had burning blade active, and managed to get a further stack of Burning Blade by casting it on himself in battle.
You can do it too, at least in 0.85
you could cast stoneskin on a world map, and then again during tactical battle
not sure it is bug or intended
Same thing sometimes (and sometimes not!) works with the "summon shadow warg" spell, though I guess you could say the bug is that it shows up as a strategic spell in the first place.
If you have a weapon that gives flaming dart and you have the skill to cast it as a normal magician, then you can cast it twice each round of battle with the same unit. Its REALLY useful 
I personally like to cast Stoneskin twice on the same unit. So much win.
Would be cool if repeated castings of stone skin reduced movement with each casting to offset the bonus to defense.
Would the stack eventually become stone golems? (or your hero The Thing?)
