[.85] Turns take several minutes to complete

Just downloaded the game, works well so far except when ending a turn, it takes 2-4 minutes before the next turn will start.  This is on a small map, custom character and faction.

I'm noticing lengthy times between turns too.  Not 2-4 minutes...more like 2-4 seconds, but in Beta 1 the turns were 1 second.

Perhaps it has to do with AI code additions.

It's the pathing. Tell a unit to travel from one end of the map to the next and your computer will lock up for 30 seconds or so. For each unit pathing around, (computer too?) the computer will need to run additional less time consuming checks. It will have to recalculate if something gets in the way (I think), but even if not the effects accumulate pretty quickly.

I guess this is why pathfinding was non-existent in earlier versions.

Pathfinding also is still not as smart as it could be. I can make better choices when dealing with trees. Units don't adjust pathing when meeting obstacles, etc.

Bwahahahaha, welcome to my world!

Well, no, not really, but this was happening on my singlecore in the previous version. I'm about 2 hours away from downloading 0.85 so I'll get to testing it soon, maybe even verify how it works on the singlecore compared to the older version. You could check to see if the time continues to be that long on maps with low density of monsters and resources and with different AI levels. I found no conclusive evidence that it has a noticeable effect, but you may have more luck.

LE: I've gotten about 200 turns in and so far nothing has lasted more than 4-5 seconds, and that's when I was speeding trough the turns.

Gonna take 10 minutes, delete evertyhing, re-download it, and start over.   See if it was just an issue on my end.  I did not babysit the install and when I came back my AV had quarantined some stuff the setup.exe was trying to install lol...I thought I made exceptions for all of it but can't be certain.  If it is an issue on my end will let everyone know, I am actually glad to hear that no one else seems to be having this trouble.  From what I have seen so far the game does look interesting.  Would be nice to play it without severe "turn lag" :p
