.77 Beta Report -

Out of emory crashes

   I think this has already been reported as an issue, but I thought I should add my own observation/experience;

   In the mid to late game I start getting OOM crashes and restarting the computer helps somewhat. I have 12 GB memory installed, but as the memory usage approaches 6 GB it will frequently crash. I can just sit there and watch the memory usage climb second-by-second on Task Manager at this stage of the game.

   What is the best way of testing my memory to see if there is a problem there, I installed  6 of the GBs, and Windows says all 12 is available, but... who lnows?

   I also notice that the game does not take advantage of hyper-threading. One core is really busy, 3 cores are humming along and 4 (virtual) cores are doing nothing.

   I understand that the crashes will be eliminated in 0.80. I wish it would be released soonest because as it it now stands I have no access to the later game mechanics or spells.

What release of Windows are you running on?   I've had several crashes, but no OoM crashes, unlike my experiences on EWoM, where they were very common.  I'm on Windows 7 64 bit.
