When can we have solid separators that don't take up whole icon size?

Will ObjectDock EVER have the ability to add separators between icons that don't take up whole icon block sizes themselves?  After quite some time, there still seems no way to do this. :-(

I think its because the separator is treated like another icon. Reducing the size of the separator wouldn't work because its tied into the size of the icons themselves. Small separator, small icons. There would have to be separate 'function' I guess for installing a separator independent of icon size. Someone come by and correct me if I'm wrong.
