[Suggestion][.77] Tutorial simple things

Bravo!  After having sort of given up on WOM, I decided to try the Fallen Enchantress Beta, after swearing to NEVER do another Beta again... Sigh.

Cleared my brain, decided to start with the tutorial and pretend that I had never played a computer game in my life.  Game looks very pretty, much better.  Trying to put myself into the mindset of a noob, I plowed on.  Only found a few minor things that might confuse a new person.

1.  There is nothing about recruiting the champion that appears in the tutorial, or it skipped it.  Since I had played WOM it was obvious, but since this is for new people might want to mention about recruiting.

2. I found the mouse cursor confusing, should be dynamic.  looks like you are always attacking something.  Should have a neutral cursor, attack, explore etc....

3.  In combat it would be VERY nice to be able to hover over an opponent and see what it's movement range is, or if this exists I did not know how to show it.  Would help to plan strategy if you knew how far a creature could move.  Sort of like in HOMMV.

4.  Also a cursor issue, in combat, was not sure if my hero was ranged or not, the cursor shows attack even though the creature was all the way across the map.  If its a melee guy it should show an X or something over the cursor to show that  you need to move into range.  Right clicking for attack, left click for spells ugh! Make up your minds!

These are very minor, but in the crowd you need to attract are not the WOM/Elemental fans to make money, its the outside crowd!

Also I hope the tutorial gets longer and more in depth, it seems to scratch the surface, and then just sort of end.  I know its just the start of the Beta, so hopefully it will evolve.

Looks fantastic so far.

End of quote

This does exist, but as far as I can tell it doesn't always work.  Most of the time if I hover the cursor over an opponent in combat, it shows his movement, attack, defense, and hit points.  But sometimes it shows me nothing at all.

Agree with your other points.

Ah you bring up a good point, it does show their movement capacity if you hover over the units.  I guess I was looking for a graphical representation, like shadowing the squares they can move to, such as in HommV.  Just would be nice to have a quick look as you hover over to see some shaded squares that the enemy can reach,  not sure how in depth the strategy is, if that is even necessary.  Just something I got used to with HOMM, big part of planning is to move units up to outside of their next movement range.  Can do this with looking at their stats, and then counting out the squares, just not as pretty, or quick.
