[Bug] Maintained Spells do not update for # of shards

Just noticed this bug using the spell "Regeneration", which is supposed to heal 1 health per turn, +1 per Life Shard.

I had cast the spell on my sovereign.  In the meantime, I recruited 2 more champions and obtained a single life shard.  I also cast regeneration on my two champions, both casts occurring after the shard had been constructed.  In both the tactical combat and in the overland map, the 2 champions receive 2 health per turn, while the sovereign received only 1 per turn (who had Regeneration cast prior to the construction of the shard).

By dispelling then recasting the spell regeneration, the sovereign was able to receive the amount indicated in the tooltip.

This bug is not exclusive to the spell regeneration.  I was able to create the same situation with "Stoneskin" and earth shards - so it appears common to any maintained spell.

I have experienced this too. It might be intentional to increase performance.

Yeah, saw the same thing with earth elementals, I had 5 shards when summoning Elemental A, and a turn later I had gained another shard, and summoned an extra emelental in combat... and that one was stronger. First I thought it was a bug but deceided to recast first to check... Shard boni are calculated at casting time.

I can also verify this for unit enchants.

However I can't decide if it is a bug or a feature.

You just got a new shard, why should it affect spells you had cast 20-30 turns ago?

I can understand the fact that "fixing" it would reduce micro. What about adding a button on the enchants list to "upgrade" each enchant by paying some mana cost, to a more powerful version, when you get new shards.

Or add in that list to each line that represents the enchant the number of relevant shards you had when you cast it.

Right now you have to remember or verify the bonus stats the enchant gives. Too tedious.

Same here, was not sure if this was by design or not, would like to hear from the dev's.  I think most would vote for it changed to auto improve as shards are gathered if possible.

End of maniakos's quote

There's no way to scale mana cost with, well...anything, really.  But there should be!!!

Already posted about this.

BTW, you need to post bugs in the FE Support subforum.
