I get knocked down, but I get up again, counterattack, and fall down again

That doesn't sound quite right...

Give a champion/sovereign the Counterattack feat and pick a fight with an Umberdroth or other enemy that can knock units prone. Let the enemy knock the unit prone. It will fall over, stand up, counterattack, and fall down again.
