What else goes with desktopX?

I see screen shots of desktops especially from pixtudio and they seem to have alot more things than desktopX to make their desktop looked cool. I see things like Icon packagers and things like that. What else should I need to know about other programs?

just to read the readmes...

pretty much you can skin your entire Desktop, "YOU" just need to know what programs you like and use everyday and that's all

Skate, DesktopX will completely transform your desktop but it will NOT change the appearance of your windows. You need WindowBlinds for that.

okay sorry =/
lets be more specific here, yes listen to FIrestorm if you use DesktopX you're off to a good start, then windowblinds will skin your windows and buttons etc.
what I meant as "your" fav programs I mean if you use instant messenging such as icq then you can skin icq w/ icq plus etc. if you use Internet explorer you can use either themebar here at
http://www.microgarden.com/
or WebBlinds from stardock...
icon packager you already know skins all your icons...
you can get skinnable mail checkers, and skinnable desktop clocks! and if you are into irc then you can get trillian
you mainly need to focus on what apps you use and come back and ask ppl here what programs you need to skin them and where to get them at

and if you're really daring & get curious to try something alittle more complex such as LiteStep, just remember to read the readme first,
you will have alot of ppl here to help you w/ your questions or at any of the other skinning sites too for that matter...

skatefx, DesktopX is an Object oriented user interface. You don't use "icons" (unless you are mixing objects and Icons). What you see are Objects. To learn more about it, read the tutorial at: https://www.stardock.com/products/desktopx/tutorial

DesktopX does not change the appearance of your Windows, but WindowBlinds does that: http://www.windowblinds.net

You may also want to see how the whole Object Desktop package works at: http://www.objectdesktop.net
