Trouble upgrading DX

This is a first for me. Every time I try to update the lastest DesktopX via SDCentral, I get the following message:
The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.)
Result: Installation failed
Prior to this, I'd get messages that instructed me to restart my computer, but that's normal. This isn't. Do I have to unload DX now to upgrade it? TIA

Not sure why it would tell you that, but I can offer a tip. Always exit the program you are about to upgrade before upgrading it. It will save you from having to reboot and will cause less chance of the installation getting fudged. This applies for any program you upgrade in Windows, the only reason it makes you reboot is because the file you are over-writing is in use, so you need to reboot for the change to take place.

Thanks, Hus. For some reason, I just assumed that you can upgrade directly from SDC without having to exit a program. I dunno why I thought that. Anyway, I unloaded DX, and voila! Works like a charm.

I have always upgraded without closing the programs concerned, but I have found out why this is happening, it's the DX widgets that's causing the program to stop about 3/4 of the way through the installation.
