system error 65535

Hi everyone,

So ever since I installed the new windowblinds on my pc I have lost the ability to install programs or even run as administrator. After some reading I've come to the conclusion that some Stardock products are the cause of said problem. I was hoping to see if anyone has encountered the same issue and may be able to help me out. Recovery would be a last resort for me since I have not backed up my files in a while and would prefer to not lose my work and files.

Thank you

What happens when you try to run as an admin or install programs?  Errors?  Flying monkeys?

Can you post a screenshot?

What version of WB?  What OS?  How about the system info from the WB app?

Thanks.

Yes.

I read of this once before.

If you unload windowblinds, does the problem go away?

Also:

In your Start Menu search window type: cmd

Then, right click on the little dos window icon and "Run as Administrator". In the DOS window that opens, at the prompt type sfc /scannow

let it run.

I suspect a System File that Windowblinds hooks into is corrupt.

If when the scannow completes, you get 'no integrity violations found', then select and apply your Aero theme, uninstall Windowblinds, reboot and reinstall Windowblinds, then reboot.

That should fix a borked installation, which is the other possibility.

Did it work for you?

You were spot on, after unloading windowblinds I could install the software. I also did the system file check and is word for word as you said. All is left now is to uninstall, reboot and reinstall. Thanks a bunch!

Since the sfc /scannow worked, you don't have to uninstall and reinstall.

WB should work perfectly now.
