Sins on Steam - Unlockable if you already own it?

Are you able to take your serial keys (from Impulse) and use them to unlock the game on  your Steam account? I'd rather not have Impulse (since every other digital game I own is via Steam and I was sorta had no choice but to use Impulse for this).

But now that Sins is on Steam and we technically "own" the game, will we able to use our keys and use the digital client of choice?

The only problem I see is that I own the game and two expansions (three separate serial numbers) .. while on steam it is a 1 game "bundle" .. (Trinity). So the keys are probably different.

Any way to get a new key from Stardock to be used in Steam if we can prove we own the game and both micro expansions?

Thanks for the link.

As someone posted in that thread ... having some sort of way for us owners to "port" our copy to Steam would be great .. Whether we show proof of purchase via our old keys to get STEAM keys (though this obviously would create some issues as anyone could give away sell their new "steam" key to anyone).

But I think pre-ordering rebellion to give you a STEAM key for Sins would be the perfect solution and would encourage me to buy Rebellion early.

Sorry, we aren't giving Steam keys out for Sins, and there are no plans to do so.

As Sins is not a Steamworks game, it makes little to no difference whether it is "on steam" or not, save how you download it.

If you just want to uninstall Impulse, AFAIK Trinity is already available for direct download on the store page (can't confirm at this hour as I only have the individual products myself), and the new SDC will be out shortly as well (probably before any further updates).

Kyro, does this only apply to Trinity? All of my games say use Impulse to install even though I've had Original Sins/Entrenchment/Diplomacy individually before the Impulse sale.

Yes, AFAIK. Game availability via the store site is still a work in progress since it's a complement to the new SDC (which is also not quite done yet).

Okay, well so long as there are plans for us original customers to be able to patch via SDC I'm fine.
