Next to impossible to get support?

Can't get a copy of fences pro I paid for

It seems to be impossible to reach anyone at stardock via multiple phone calls, emails, or support form submissions. I paid for a copy of Fences pro a ways back and now need to reinstall it because of a computer reinstall but stupid impulse is telling me it is "expired" and no longer lets me download and install. Since this is how I originally received it I have no way to get anything but the free version off the stardock site. Luckily it appears I can still find my key at least in impulse since stardock oddly does not even send me that or a download link when I send a request for my products. (Nor does it send my my object dock info that I paid for). I own quite a few products from stardock and this lack of any response from support is getting past annoying.

Go here, https://store.stardock.com/login.aspx?ReturnUrl=/myaccount/products , log in, download it, and anything else you own from Stardock.

 

If you'll do some research on these forums, you'll see that Impulse has been sold and is no longer the way to get your software, unless it's a game.

 

 

Also, I see that you are a past customer. Stardock said we are responsible for archiving our own apps. They will not be making access to old versions. So you may not have any luck there.

Researching for yourself a little would help.

Lastly, you would get better answers if you actually posted in a support forum.

The autoreply mechanism appears to have been disrupted, but is now functional.

Your email has probably been received and you will receive an answer. I would advise waiting as more email will just confuse the situation.

Yes thanks for assuming I did no research before posting :grin:   and thanks for the links I actually already tried that first one and seen the 2nd one on wincustomize. The first one does list object dock but with no serial (??) and no fences.  I also already knew gamestop bought impulse (after installing it and seeing the giant gamestop ad's anyhow). The apps are still listed there though even with the newly installed brand new version. You used to always be able to get them again via impulse. Oh well.

You should be able to get Fences, etc through the store. I can.

If you can't, you really do need support's help. Try to be patient... they just got in from the weekend and have to play catch up. ;)

Hi.

A couple of things:

There is no phone line  for tech support.  Email and the ticketing system are it.

Every time you reply to an open ticket, it bumps that ticket to the end of the queue.  This prevents any abuse of the system.

If you don't see your products listed at https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products; make sure your subscription isn't out.

Lastly, you should have gotten a reply today.  If you have not, check your spam filters.

Also, please check your Email Adress you purchased the apps under.  In the past if they were purchased under differenht email address you need to log into the Stardock Store with that email address to get your downloads.  YOu can contact support and get other email rolled into one address.

I have one main address i do all my stardock/wincustomize purchases through, so they all show up when i log-in to the store.

Zubaz, Thanks for the reply. I still have not received an email from support and I checked my spam filter. I have never used any other email address to register any products so i know this is the correct address.

So I see now that Fences now appears to be a part of Object Desktop this is probably where my problem is..

When I purchased Fences Pro I paid full price for Fences Pro and Object dock separately, they were not a combined product at the time. There was never any indication I would have to renew or extend my license to get new features or reinstall. (The fact I paid $50 for OD [and several renewals over the years] and another $20 for Fences is a whole nother issue that irks me now ...) Yes my OD subscription has lapsed because I do not use it but I do use the heck out of Fences.

Even if it is expired why am I not able to download and reinstall what I paid for? Paying another $35 (ooh on sale for $25!) to be able to do this seems like a ripoff. Hell I can buy the product again for less than it would cost me to renew OD which I don't use anything except Fences out of.  This would be less of an issue if you guys had never switched to using that POS impulse to download and install products with. I would likely have at least saved the installer files somewhere if I had been able to manually download them. Thank goodness we are back to the old way.

Aspersions aside, SD will get you squared away with the version of Fences you paid for.  But for that to happen, you need to give them the opportunity to sort it out.  Patience will be rewarded and you'll get what you 'paid for'.  Getting snotty won't do a thing to help.

Snotty? hrmm oook. I'm far from snotty :annoyed: , frustrated maybe but I've also been trying to get assistance for almost 2 weeks now and the forum was a last resort which actually got the fastest (only) response from someone at Stardock. Thanks!

Can't tell you what to do.  Just offering a suggestion.  They will do right by you, in spite of your 'frustration', perhaps not as quickly as you'd prefer, but they'll get there.
