Map creation

So I didn't search the forums at all, sorry about that but I rather just do it this way.

I'm wondering about the map creator, i took a quick glance at it and I have a question about how far you can go with it.  I had the urge to make up scenarios, where you start out with certain ships and with a map is that shaped a certain way and even start out with certain techs.  Is it possible to do that?

Are you taking about the in game map creator or the galaxy forge you needed to download. The galaxy forge can do everything but give techs as mentioned (though some like wormhole travel can be given via artifacts), the in game map designer is basically limited to making random maps within some basic parameters, though with this guide you can still do some cool things with it.

 

 

Further, I advise that the Devs add custom map sharing to Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion.
