Rollback To Previous Version Of WindowBlinds 7?

After installing the latest update to WB7 I had numerous problems. I ended up doing a system restore. Is there no way to just roll back WB to a previous version? I have many versions archived but there seems to be no way to access them.

After searching the knowledge base again I ran across the procedure for installing archived apps. Not exactly user friendly I must say. How about a big button that says IN EMERGENCY (or in case we send out an update that hoses your box) PRESS HERE!

My understand of doing a system restore is that you go back to a time prior to what you just installed, so you should have rolled back to the previous version of WBs.  I take it that didn't happen.  Normally I would suggest going to Stardock.com Store and load the production vs beta but this update was the production one.

Just will have to wait for a Stardock rep or email support@stardock.com

Where did you download the update from the store link or Impulse?

Impulse.

Now I can't restore an archive through Impulse nor can I use the latest build. If I want to use WB again it appears I'll have to burn the drive down to bare metal then blast my image on. I tried to fix it by simply installing a backup image over the top but evidently the new version digs in to deep for that. The thing that frustrates me is I'm a long time customer of Object Dock and purchased it, once again, this year. This is the first update I had seen for WB since I resubscribed and I jumped on it thinking "finally I'm going to get something for my money!" Well I got something alright.

A back up image should have worked because it is an image of the disc/partition prior to installing 7.3 so nothing from 7.3 should even be on an image that was done prior to installing 7.3

Yes you would think that but as I and others have found out this is not the case. Something gets it's hooks in and won't let go. An image applied over an old OS might still retain some bits so I'm thinking a drive format may be the only option.

A full partition image applied over an old OS replaces everything on that partition nothing from the OLD OS will be there period. If you are just restoring file yes there will be hooks from old OS there.

In theory you are right but I have seen bits and pieces of apps linger after a a partition restore with out a wipe (and I've done many). The only sure way to eradicate everything is a format and image restore or reinstall. Just as I would never trust blasting an image over an OS that had been infected by a virus I'm sure that there is something in this WB install that finds a way to hang around, because it did. I will do another image restore if someone can explain why I can't restore my archived apps through Impulse. When I try an archive restore a tab on the left bottom says it's attempting restore then quickly (5 seconds) goes through a download, and install process and says WB has reinstalled then the tile greys out again stating it's now "available" but it hasn't been installed.

I have my archives on a drive other than my system drive as I have a 128 gb SSD and space is precious. Is it possible the archive needs to reside on the same drive as the application?

Problem Solved! (hopefully....) Fired up Impulse and it had an update (which changes the Impulse logo to GameStop logo, yippee advertising!). So I thought I would try WB update again just for fun (like I don't have anything better to do) and what do you know, it's working. Granted I haven't had time to put it through it's paces but we'll see.

My other problem still remains though and that is how can I get an archive restored?
