OD renewal via recent $10 off deal

Unable to update OD components via Impulse?

I decided to renew my expired OD sub with the $10 off deal I just got in the mail - did so via the Stardock store and so on, no problems.  But when I try to update Fences Pro, Deskscapes, etc via Impulse it says the registration is invalid.

Is something wrong or do we need to download things individually now?  Isn't there a way to get Impulse to update this stuff automatically anymore?

Yes then no, since Impulse was sold to Gamestop no new or renewal OD products are still handled with Impulse.

Download from Stardock store.

There is a new app that will be for Stardock products only in the works.

Okay thanks, that's what I thought.

Can anyone tell me what "WinCustomize Customer Loyalty" in the products under the my account section is? There's a download but it just takes me to an error page.

I think, purely from memory, that it popped up a couple/few years ago when Stardock graciously did an extension for WC subscribers.  I believe it was related to the "WB themes per year" model.  It did used to show somewhere before the Impulse deal, I'm thinking on the WC MyProducts page.  It has a dead link for me as well and I think at this point it's moot, other than a pleasant little reminder to me of the little things that WC/SD does sometimes to be nice (seriously, it was nice).  At some point it did have an expiration date which made sense.

Never mind.  Old unrelated issues.  It'll pass.

In order to update (install downloaded version), at least for Deskscapes and I assume Fences too, it's saying I first need to uninstall - ack.  If I uninstall via Impulse won't I lose all my configuration of both?

Rats - a lot of Stardock customers are probably going to be a little po'ed about that.

Especially having to re-download Deskscapes dreams which we may not have access to anymore since there's a subscription involved.

You can backup your .dream files, they are located in your Stardock documents folder.

I keep all mine on a network drive shared by both my PCs. That way, I avoid the problem with uninstalling, and I don't need multiple copies to take up so much space....dreams can be quite large.
