Yep, it's a mess isn't it? (no pun intended)   It also opens other windows including IE8 in Windows classic....yuck.

Open WB config and go to settings. Go to Per application, select Add, then browse to YahooMessenger.exe and exclude it from being skinned.

That fixes the main window and IM window but is no help for the other issue.

I think your exclusion is why it opens child processes as classic.  You would need to enable the "This exclusion is not inherited by any apps launched by this app" option in Advanced features on the per applications settings dialog.

I just tried  these settings with no results. Clicking a link( to this post, for example) in the IM window if IE8 isn't already open launches it in classic. If IE is already open, it opens a new tab in the already skinned IE8 window. Btw, I'm still on version 10 of Messenger.

Doesn't work, Neil. It still opens windows in classic. I think it's a Yahoo bug, not WB.

EDIT: It does the same when clicking a link in Yahoo mess and opening in Firefox. It causes the titlebar buttons in Firefox to become unskinned and non functioning.

Yahoo has been a mess in WB for a while... in 7 anyway.

Forcing me to use Aero most of the time.

Version 11 tries to use the WB skin but fails miserably.

OK, I removed all exceptions in WB Config having to do with Yahoo Mess.

I uninstalled YM with an advanced uninstaller.

I reinstalled YM.

Now the windows opened as a result of clicking a link is back to normal, but some dialogs opened in YM are still not skinned, and I'm beginning to think it IS WB related.

I've been using this version of YM a long time and have never had this problem.

For anybody's reference, I was having an even stranger issue with YIM. I had it added to my exclusions, but it was still getting partially skinned by WB (the title bar and frame). I found that adding the "startWrapper.exe" application in the messenger directory fixed the issue once I fully quit (tray app and all) YIM, applied the settings in WB and then restarted YIM. Now fully excluded.
