Sins of a Solar Empire vs. GalCiv2?

Which do you like more?

I know they're different kinds of games but I'd still like some opinions from people who've played both. Sins is supposedly "4x" too so I'm guessing it's somewhat comparable.

I love space stuff and Sins definitely has the graphics advantage but even though it's amazing looking obviously it's gameplay that keeps you playing a game.

I'm a *tad* hesitant about Sins because I've heard from some people that it's basically GalCiv "lite" when it comes to strategy and that the AI isn't as good. Also I'm kind of sick of RTS games in general... though the pace of Sins looks way slower than games like CoH, DoW, SC, etc. Something a bit more "chilled out" than Starcraft 2 would be nice lol.

I guess I really want a game with some serious strategic DEPTH. I've played Civ4 BTS to death and am kinda tired of it. Plus both these games are in space so they've got that going for them :).

I guess from what I've read I've got the impression that Sins is great on the battles side but weak on the strategy side while with GalCiv it's the reverse (since from what I've read battles are automated?)

I'll probably end up buying both eventually but I've only got $$ for one or the other atm (I'd be buying the "packs" for each, so Trinity and GalCiv2 Ultimate)

If you want the strategy you should go for GalCiv2, it's turn based, so you have time to think about everything.

With Sins being real time, it can't have as much depth as GalCiv2, we just wouldn't have time to manage it all.  I've only played Sins briefly so far so I don't know it in great detail but unless you want a change from turn based games, then I think GalCiv2 is the one you want to try.
