HELP! i broke my sins :(

galaxy folder?

Hi,

I fiddled around with my galaxy folder when i first got the game and ended up messing up a few maps, recently i just patched from 1.02 to 1.03 and i have entrenchment.

I tried to play the game and reinstall from disk however when i go to view maps to play there are only maybe 3 in each category, and galaxy forge says: string not found or something along those lines. HELP ME I NEED MAPS :*(

well... um...

honestly, the best thing would be to completely uninstall, and reinstall from impulse so you get the most recent version.

Because... your patch numbers are waaaay off.

I know its not what you want to hear, but its really not that huge of a game.

Alternatively, you could do the impulse anywhere thing, and suck internets from a local coffee shop to download it.

If you shift-right click the game in Impulse and choose the verify option, it should spend a while analyzing your installation and will then download any files that differ or are missing. That way you should be able to avoid a full reinstall.

When messing around with game files, in ANY game, always make a backup of the originals in case you mess something up.

With Sins in particular, you should NEVER EDIT THE BASE GAME FILES. Instead, make a mod with them or in the case of maps, put them in the GalaxyForge folder for custom maps.
