Windowblinds killing online gaming

Hi, I uninstalled Windowblinds 7 because it was killing online gaming.  I set it to not skin certain games using the per application setting but was still having problems where it would shut down the games after 1-2 minutes, the only way I could get the games to run longer was to uninstall Windowsblinds, is this a know problem with Windowblids and certain online games, if it is how can I still run Windowblinds 7 and stop the game shutdown from happening.

Hmmmm....I have WindowBlinds installed and have never had it shut down any game I play...and I never even bothered to not have it skin anything...in fact I don't even think about it. So if this is a known problem it's news to me. And I've been using WindowBlinds for about 7 years now.

You may want to post some info. like what games, system config and such.  I play lots of games, the new duke nukem, bulletstorm, crysis, unreal 3, and have never had an issue.  It may be a setting in windowblinds, I remember something to the affect of "force skinning on DirectX apps" or something to that affect, as a setting.  But i've been using windowblinds for 10+ years and I don't remember it ever giving me trouble when playing a game.

and why be all wierd about it?  Killing online gaming? Seriously?

I as a gamer turn off all extras to free up resources, Including Windowblinds,  you just have to unload it from the systray icon menu, when gaming then restart it when finished no need to uninstall..

Easier yet, make a new user account with everything unnecessary turned off and switch to it when gaming.

The main game that suffers from this problem is Florensia Online where if I have Windowblinds running the game only stay connected for a minute or so before dropping the connection altogether.  I am running Windows 7 Ultimate, AMD 64 x2 5000+ CPU, 4gb ram, GTX550Ti video card.  I can only stop this game from dropping by uninstalling Windowblinds.  Hope this helps, hopefully someone else plays this game and can give me some idea as to what might be causing this particular game to drop out.

You can add a "per application" exception to windowblinds.  put the EXE for the game in that list.  This should fix your problem.  If that doesn't not work the next step is to right click on the program shortcut, click on the compatibility tab and select disable desktop composition.

also, are you running the demo of windowblinds or the full version from Impulse/Stardock.com?  A bootleged version could have a phone dialer app attached to it that could cause this problem.
