Sins of a Solar Empire Trinity Serial Key Doesn't Work!

Heya, sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place.

Anyway, I bought Sins of a Solar Empire Trinity in Game (I live in the UK). I never really bothered entering my serial number as it seemed I could play the game without it. Anyway, now when I try and update it, because there is an update available, it seems it does not work.

I keep trying to add the serial key, and I have tried to do it in several ways (I have tried trying it again, I have tried getting rid of the -'s in between the series of letters and numbers), but it still does not work.

This is beginning to annoy me, seeing that I bought this game and I can not update it. Is this because I didn't buy it on Impulse? Is it because I waited ages to register the serial number? What?

The technical forum would be better since the Stardock people check that more. Anyways they've had some "problems" with UK retailers before, but email them with the link above and explain your situation and they should get things cleared up, or give you a new serial number.
