Having trouble creating a shortcut to "GodMode" ; "My Computer"

I'm trying to create a couple shortcuts in Objectdock using the "animated docklet" docklet. I'm trying to create shortcuts to "My Computer" and also GodMode. For GodMode, usually you can just create a desktop shortcut with:

 

C:\Windows\explorer.exe shell:::{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} as the target and

 

C:\Windows

as the "start in". But this is not working in Objectdock. Notrhing comes up.

 

I'm also having no luck creating a shortcut to "My Computer". On my desktop, I can create a shortcut using:

 

%windir%\explorer.exe "::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}" as the target and

%windir%

as the "start in", but it's not working for me like that in Objectdock. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?I'm also having no luck making a shortcut to "Control Panel". I'd like to have Control Panel come up just like it does from the Windows 7 start menu.

Have you tried creating them on the desktop and then drag and dropping them onto your dock?

I just tried dragging the shortcuts onto the dock, but the results are not what I want. If I click repeatedly on the "My Computer" shortcut directly from the desktop (or anywhere else I put that shortcut), I can open up multiple windows of "My Computer" in a row, which is perfect when I want to have multiple windows open to copy files, etc. But I can't do that from the shortcut if I drag it to the dock - the first click opens up a new window for "My Computer", ONLY if there are no other Explorer windows already open. If there are any other Windows Explorer windows open, clicking the shortcut from the dock will just minimize the already open window, it will not create a new open window.

 

And if I drag the "GodMode" shortcut to the dock, again, it will open up Godmode, IF no other Explorer windows are open. If there are, it will then minimize the already open window to the taskbar. In both cases, if there is an already open Explorer window, then it doesn't work. Again, if I click directly on the shortcuts themselves, then all is fine. But the shortcuts don't work the same when they are on the dock.

 

I've also tried dragging the desktop shortcut for "Control Panel" to the dock. Again, not what I wanted to see. If I click on the desktop shortcut, it opens up Control Panel just as if you opened it in the start menu. But if you click on it from the dock, it opens up the control panel in its "All Control Panels Items" view (Control Panel>All Control Panel Items). But that view just opens up a messy full-page jumble of Control Panel options, and it's too confusing to find what you want. I like the previous view better where they are grouped into categories to start. Why would these shortcuts work differently from the dock? These are the things about Windows that drive me nuts.

Okay I did figure out how to create a proper "My Computer" animated shortcut. Create an animated docklet, and fill it in like this:

 

Path:  explorer.exe

Parameters:  "::{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}"

Title:  My Computer

 

Now it will open multiple My Computer windows with multiple clicks. Perfect.

 

 

AND

 

I got GodMode to work by creating an animated docklet and filling it in like this:

 

Path:  explorer.exe

Parameters:  shell:::{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Title:  GodMode

 

Now it opens GodMode even if other Explorer windows are open.

 

The only thing I can't seem to figure out is how to pin the control panel to the dock without it opening up in the full view mode. I can't get it to open in the category view.

In windows 7 64bit I was able to create a shortcut to the control panel category view 

in the link box I put

c:\windows\system32\control.exe
