This is a weird question, but...

So I remember playing this game years ago.  It was a space civ oriented game, like Galciv, but iirc it focused only on one planet.  There were different races - the only one I can remember where these short war-like red guys (I think).  I distinctly recall how battles worked - when you sent your troops in, at the end of the turn it would show you a little animated battle recap, where like your tanks would shoot at their defense towers and stuff, and you could destroy buildings.  Hey, I also remember the defense towers, they looked like little guns.  I also have this weird feeling the game started with a D, but I could be wrong.  Does anyone know what I'm talking about?
