how can i make all tactical maps larger?

the tactical maps are very small in this game. is there a way i can have the in game maps all become larger so you actually have some room to maneuver?

Yes it is possible.

You have to build all the maps though.  I started working on it, but with the AI tactics being basically rush-the-human, all it did was make battles longer, not more interesting.  I can dig out my notes on how to do it if you're really interested.  It's not worth the bother though in my opinion.
