Newbie to Diplomacy

Okay, so I am a bit of a beginner at Diplomacy. I usually just try to win thru brute force.

 

Any ideas, tips, tricks, suggestion as to do the whole Diplomacy thing . . .

 

Also, does diplomacy differs when play different factions? If so, how so?

Try to form up with a TEC ally if you are not TEC. (the 500 plus in supply helps deviate the cost of the Envoys)

Only one Envoy needed per planet.

Mostly in the abilities. You find the difference in the research areas.
