Impulse is broken

I've tried downloading, redownloading, downloading the full downloader, uninstalling, reinstalling, everything. Impulse refuses to work and I'm adamant that it like every other downloader is total garbage. So can anyone help me fix the error it's getting?

It installed with a significant amount of difficulty, installing .NET 4.0, then it didn't work so I had to install 2.0, then I had to install internet explorer before it would even start installing, after it started it finished just fine, then when it tried to run Impulse it just crashes and gives me a windows error.

Does anyone know what's going on with this?

What's the error message?

I've never had any trouble installing it. Perhaps you should give us your computer's specs. (tech specs)

Why? ie isn't a requirement for Impulse. Did you uninstall ie in the past and cause registry problems?

Do a  sfc /scannow  from the elevated cmd prompt (run as Administrator).

it just crashes and gives me a windows error

What error? What does it say?

Please try to answer ALL of the above.

Hi, I had the exact same problem about 1 week ago when i ran impulse.  It went out and found updates and installed them.  Since that time every time i try to install, reinstall or run impulse it gets a windows error and asks if i want to send my results to microsoft.  It worked just fime before it had that last update.  Nothing has changed with my computer.  I installed .net35 since i hadn't updated windows in forever and now it works. @PurrBall I was getting the exact same error when trying to install Impulse in Bootcamp. I followed @tkimgame's advice and installed .NET 3.5 and Impulse installed smoothly.
