Inspiration for art

In a lost mood and started to think about inspiration for artwork. Where do you get your inspirations from?

Whoa, DevArt déjà vû. I get inspiration from everything. Walk around, watch tv, look at other "art". It'll come.

I just start working Tim.... Eventually all the pieces find themselves and put themselves together...

Let the art create itself and just facilitate it in the process...

i get mine from the magical fairies that appear at night

crea has the proper viewpoint. There's not a "place for inspiration" aside from everywhere. For example, my "Clean Living" icon set is inspired by home appliances. Look at things around you from an artistic standpoint... look at EVERYTHING like this.

Who knows, your next "great work" may be inspired from the pattern on the box of your TV dinner.

I get a lot of my inspiration from dreams, but I always find it interesting to see where others get thiers from.

ess-vid, there is no "proper" viewpoint in this...

I get inspired to skin only when the moon is full
hehe j/k

when you "are" in a skinning mood take a look around at everything and "something" will inspire you
just as ess-vid said

I was looking at a mandivilla plant which has big "pink" flowers and big "green" leaves and I thought what a neat "Color Combo" for a Dashboard Skin
but I'm too lazy to try it cuz the moon ain't full... hehe

Sorry about that I pasted the wrong one. Here is the collection. And if you grow a ton of hair and sharp teeth at the sight of the full moon do not open the below link, only for those that need the powers of lunar inspiration.

I usually look at all my old collection of MobiusCo wallpapers when I need inspiration

or - as crae and ess-vid everywhere and anything. At the good times, when it's flowing, I get overwhelmed by inspiration everywhere I look.

Dreams are good too.... think I'll go back to sleep

"The night is born, the christlings thorn
The sun seems dead and somehow forlorn
And the moon lurks above" - Borknagar, A Tale of Pagan Tongue

I've always wanted to quote that. Good thing you brought that up. The sky in general can be very inspiring.

Yeah, sleep is good. Two at night, I should crawl into my sleeping bag. The problem is there's so much inspiration, but it is so volatile and I have so little time to work things out...

Ess...the pattern on the box of TV dinners is probably copyrighted, so your inspired submission would be moderated.....hehe...

Well, that's kind of an interesting question for me. I usually decide first that something has to be done, either I'm responsible for getting a job done for a client, or I'm just bored with my current theme and want to make something new. Then I'll mumble and curse for a few weeks about how stupid everything is, occasionally stopping to make a half assed attempt at something only to scrap it after 10 minutes. Eventually I'll quit the complaining and just sit down and do it. Van Gogh used to drink absinth to get inspiration, then he cut his ear off, I've tried the same thing, but just find it makes me mumble at a higher volume with a lower level of coherency. I always try and envision what I want before I start, and it usually evolves as I'm doing it.

crae that is why you need to jot them down as they come "even if" it takes months to get back to it and create it

/me goes to jot down the color combo pink & green

Why, Doreen?....

I use everything for inspiration, bilboards on he streets, cars, buildings, gadgets....it's amazing that I rarely take it from the net.

Won't work sis. I'll get new ideas while I'm in theprocess of jotting them down. Besides, my thoughts have the filetype .thought and not .word or .image, so it's quite hard to write it up without having to translate and elaborate.

I dunno but that could be very detrimental at times if there was such a toy put out by Sony... hehe
(I certainly would NOT buy it) hahaha

(please spell check that detrimental word Jafo)
