This pic about explains my wtf moment here:

I must be out of the internet loop, I don't understand a word of this. I am getting old...
I thought I was just being slow, I don't get it either.
Impulse selling a Tages laden version of XIII is what it's all about bros.
So...you created this account and posted here for the sole purpose of saying that impulse is selling XIII with a DRM you don't like? Huh, you know, Stardock doesn't even own Impulse anymore. And calling people Bros? Really? I wish all this effort would have been for something funny.
In other news the OP is a god damn idiot. Carry on brave village idiot, one day your village will accept you.
...
I'm glad someone had the balls to ask wtf is up in this thread here.
Well... technically... Stardock still own impulse until "some time in May."
Just here to help ![]()
True. It's more of a "Don't touch this Tages laden POS with a ten foot pole BECAUSE of the Tages.", not a "Stardock is so retarded" kinda thing.
I've never even heard of Tages, but me not hearing about something doesn't really mean much. So, whats the big issue? Not work with Vista or Windows 7 or something? Ive never had a DRM problem.
Look up Tages Dawg..........it's almost as bad as Starforce DRM.
XIII is awesome.
Mr JayZii, you made the effort to create and account to bitch about this issue, at least you could put some effort into selling your side of the argument. I don't care to look it up. Like I said, I've never had DRM problems.
All B.S. aside.. tages is a horrid DRM system. Didn't plan on picking this game up but won't touch it for certain with Tages.
For people not familiar with tages.. its a limited activations system. Meaning purchased with Tages the game is no longer valid after you install it X times.
(Certain securom versions used with digital distribution do this as well, although with some games securom allows you to revoke an install so you don't run out of activations)
The disc versions of games tend to not use these systems so alot of times if you see securom or Tages used on a digital copy your better off heading over to amazon or something and ordering a disc version.
I went through a 4 year long dance with securom problems on D2D versions of HOMM V, total war rome and civ IV due to activation limits. Only resolved the issue once civ IV and HOMM V removed securom protection in their last patches. (total war rome still acts up but w.e 10$ wasted). Long story short.. the games wouldn't stay activated.. so blew through my activation limit in 1 day.(yes it wasn't TAGES but its made me completely shy away from any DRM that has activation limits)
Well, that does sound shitty.
I agree....the fact that Impulse is trying to pass it off with Tages isn't. Also I heard u like sequels dawg so we made a sequel.....oh wait they didn't. ![]()
Now you see where i'm coming from......
.
You must not have tried to play Dragon Age over the last few days.
Pretty sure the pirate edition was working great though.
Protection methods used by products are listed right on the product page so shoppers can make the decision for themselves. It's no secret.
I have Dragon Age on my Xbox, but yea, havent touched it for a bit.
Yes but as Xia shows not everyone knows what Tages is.....some probably think it's some sort of secret gamer club or something.......!11!!!11!
If people are that concerned about DRM and see that TAGES is listed as a protection method, and they don't know what it is, I'm sure they would look it up and then decide for themselves how they feel about it. I don't see what the big outcry is all about.
And yes, I agree TAGES blows goats.
Cuz soccer moms buying impulse(no pun intended) stuff for their kids don't bother checking what some stuff means in the fine print before they buy?
That's what people get for being ignorant and not looking into things,IMO.
I don't know shit about cars, but you don't see me go out a randomly buy them. I do my research. I ask my car savvy friends about something I'm interested in to see if its a piece of shit or not.
Same goes for anything really. Always know what you are getting yourself into.
