object dock, minimizing / maximizing extremely slow, laggy

just purchased and installed, customized.  when objectdock is on, maximzing and minimizing is terribly laggy and slow.  if i shut down OD, the system resumes it fast pace.  new computer i7 etc.  i've played with many settings to no avail. 

 

under settings for the quicklaunch dock,  i do NOT have the button at lower left checked for zoom effect.

 

interesting note: when i have a window open and i click on the w7 taskbar icon to maximize, it is fast.

when i use the icon on the dock to maximize, it's slow.

once the window is maximized, if i click minimize on the window, it's slow.

forgot to add:

 

when i DESELECT minimize windows to dock, the problem disappears.  the windows are STILL minimized to the dock, the the speed is correct.
