what is your OS and bit 32 or 64

Have you install any programs prior to this happening? If so uninstall it or them.

can you move the CD's off of your Icons?

Also I would suggest you get, if you don't have it Spybot search and Destroy <--- LINK

and Ccleaner <--- LINK

Do you have Icon Packager? If so set it back to default Icons. ok I see that you do

If all else fails do a system restore .. So, If it happened 2 days ago do your System 3 days ago and so on..

give more details of your problem and OS info...

I will say it looks like you might be infected with something also I would suggest you get WOT it is Very good to have and NOW it works with links in Facebook

End of DisturbedComputer's quote

have you tried this

Open IP Click on Icons & Cursors then on Left side click on the drop down arrow Restore Default Icons click on Restore All Desktop Icons

If that don't work Uninstall IP run Ccleaner restart then reinstall IP

oh as for Tweakslogon I would get rid of it and go with Stardock's  LogonStudio

cause more then likely Tweakslogon replaced system files and you Might have to do a System Restore to get the system files back or use your 7 DVD to restore

IF you want to open msconfig type it in the search box on the start menu

click Start up TAB click on Startup Item to put it in alphabetic order and put your cursor between it and Manufactuer and pull it over so I can read all of Startup Item then take screen Shots it will be 2 to 4 of them and Make sure others (ME) will be able to read the text..

you can do the same with Task manager too click on ALL USERS at bottom

Does the same thing happen when you change your icons? Also ... did you install Iconpackager with Impulse? If so try this. Open Impulse and click on the my software tab. You'll see Iconpackager listed. Click on it and uninstall through Impulse. I'm not sure if you need to reboot but do it any way to be on the safe side. Then re-install through Impulse, reboot and try your icons again. One  more thing, Is the version of Iconpackager the trial version? If it is and the one you're using now is the paid version you'll need to uninstall the trial completely, run CCleaner, the link you got above, then do a re-install the way I explained with Iconpackager through Impulse.

It looks like the shortcut arrow has been replaced by another icon.

I agree, Lantec. I believe the problem is here:

more than likely Tweakslogon replaced system files

or at least altered them.

I would uninstall that tweaklogon program, and then do in the elevated command prompt: sfc /scannow  which should restore any altered system files.

After a reboot, you just might see the problem resolved.
