Actually making the folders would be come from a non-Stardock graphics program like Photoshop.........

Used to be that with Icon Developer you could create icons, but I haven't seen updates for that (and it's no longer offered as part of Object Desktop).

Mostly the graphics creation and manipulation programs are used for icon creation.

Well that sucks...it was the main thing about the product image that attracted me to it...LOL

Those folder graphics are most likely made in Photoshop, (or sometimes a 3D program like 3D studio max) and then they are placed into a program called "IconPackager" to be applied onto your computer.

Hope this helps....... :)

If all you want is 3D icons, then there are many sites on the web that have them...

There may be some in the WinCustomize Gallery Library under Icon Packager, Misc Icons or even ObjectDock.

Wasn't Mormegil brought on board to work on Icon Developer (among other things, I'm sure)? May be wrong about that.

Are you sure, I still have it and see it in Impulse. I use it regularly.

You would make the icon in another program, as a png. Then Icon Developer would convert it into an .ico file (icon).

RedneckDude I think this is one of the programs that if you had an ObjectDesktop subscription when Icon Developer was being supported you keep it.  I don't think it's being included with new subscriptions.  I could be wrong.  :sun:

Icon Developer is still listed on the object desktop page

In addition Object Desktop users get a host of other programs to enhance Windows such as DesktopX, WindowFX, IconDeveloper, SoundPackager, Keyboard LaunchPad, and more.

Users of Object Desktop don’t just get what is in Object Desktop today but also everything released or updated for it in the year after purchase. Even now, Stardock’s developers are working on programs that can give new options to Windows 7 users, get the most out of Windows XP, Vista, and more.

Object Desktop is only $49.95. For users who want to keep getting updates to the programs after the first year, they can renew their access for only $34.95!
