Removal Tool

Hello...There used to be a removal tool for Object Desktop and other stardock software programs. I searched high and low for it. Is it still needed to remove object desktop programs? If so where can I find it. Thank you

Duke

Duke261, I believe you're referring to 'the zapper' (one of Curt's tools).

That was designed to work with Windows XP, and had to download with IE.

If you installed the apps you're referring to with Impulse, the best way to remove them is with Impulse (and archive them before the uninstall).

If you didn't install with Impulse, CCleaner is probably the way to go. It's available free on the net.

Duke, download CCleaner from WG's link and use it. I don't know anything about PC Cleaner.

The zapper program will still work for ObjectDesktop application removal on Vista and Windows 7.  You can download it here - ODNT Zapper

Revo Uninstaller - it's free, has multiple settings depending on how deep you wanna go, and removes registry and files (giving you the option to select which ones you want to delete before you actually do)

Revo can be a little risky - I used it to get rid of WinFax Pro last fall and (probably because I didn't pay close enough attention) it deleted an essential OS .dll in the process.  Of course, on next reboot, no OS.  No way to replace the missing file (sure wish MS would make that possible, let alone easy), no way to repair, hosed.  Had to reformat & start from scratch.  Wasn't very happy that day.

For this purpose, the Zapper is probably a better choice.  I still use Revo occasionally, but very cautiously.
