URL's from DesktopX - HELP!!

OK folks, I'm appealing to the Help message board, though I have posted the problem in the Discussion board, via the Chained Lightening -Phoon thread. Here's the deal:
It does not matter which DX theme I have running, but url's will not link to my browser, and therefore will not work. I continually get a message that I may have typed the address incorrectly, and to please check and try again. But, I know the address is correct.
I have checked the link target, and within Properties. I've tried to change the entire address, for the hell of it, and see if that works. No dice. Nada. I'm at wit's end, and I don't know what else to do. I think it's something with my computer configuration, but I don't know where to start looking for that. Another thing you should know is that the program links to my browser and my email client both work fine, so accessing the internet itself is not an issue. Only by using direct links from DX do I have problems. Waaaaaaaaaaa........
