Folder on Object Dock?

Is there a way to add a folder to the Object Dock? It seems to only allow *.exe files, but that seems silly!

make a new shortcut and type in the folders path for the link

make a new shortcut, in link type explorer.exe and in arguments, type in the path to the folder

It can handle lnk extensions, you just have to type them in manually.
