Modding Guides? & How do I do "this"?

Is it just me, or is there a notable lack of TotA modding updates?  In fact, most of the modding tutorials and guides that exist seem unfinished on the whole, let alone not consistent with TotA.  Oh well I guess ... if anyone happens to know where the MOST complete AND up-to-date guide or tutorial is, please post the link here?

Anyway, on to my non-rhetorical questions.

Is it possible to make a tech that has more than one prerequisite?  If so, does it cause the tech to need both prerequisites, or merely either of them?

The question is in reference to a mod I'd like to try making whereby the technology victory can't simply be obtained by blasting through the research path.  I know that sounds like it'll make it a completely pointless victory condition, but there will be other significant alterations to the tech trees that bring it back down to something close.

Of course, if it's not possible to have multiple prerequisites, that will simply be a non-issue.

In my last testing, which was for DA 1.8ish, it was possible to specify multiple prerequisite technologies for other technologies or ship components.  I believe the same thing holds true for improvements, but I can't remember testing it.

In that testing, it did properly require both (all) prerequisite technologies to unlock, however it did not alter display in the tech tree window and I seem to remember it not telling you in one or more places that you needed the additional technology, although there is at least one place where it will do so.

The general official stance is that it's unsupported, unintentional, and therefore not supposed to work, but, last time I tried, it did in fact work-and I never had a game crash or anything because of it.

I hope that helps.

It does indeed.  One bit down, now just need to sort out my mod directory problem so I can start modding and testing the results.

On a related note, it's done by using an additional tag for each prerequisite, correct?

Correct.

Ok, since my other thread isn't getting ANY views, I'll just ask the question here.

I can't seem to change the default Mod folder for TotA.  What am I missing?

End of Tharios's quote

I know there was an issue with some version of TA where the place you click wasn't visible, but you could actually click it.  I'm not completely sure; I'd have to check at home and the current version may not have that issue.  You are up to date, correct?

But I would assume it could be changed in the prefs.ini...

Well...completely by accident, I managed to get it all sorted out.  Apparently hitting the default button in the mod-folder selection screen causes the change over.

So now I've got the right folder, but can't get the batch file to copy correctly.  Ah well.
