Error message says "File downloaded is smaller than..."

Am I the only one seeing this happen?

That's pretty much it; Impulse tries to download and install, downloads, and then stalls out before installing, producing the error message "File downloaded is smaller than...". Which I assume means a checksum is messed up, somewhere. There's not really a hell of a lot more to add, as this is a rather opaque process under Impulse.

Mine told me there was an error archiving during the latest update... fire off a ticket to Support at stardock.com and include a copy of your Impulse error log.

Same here.

I turned off archiving, then I was able to install, then turned archiving back on.

Just tried that--No change to the results. Irritating, to say the least.

Did you restart Impulse after turning off archiving?

You have to do that. The solution to the update problem was turning off the 'Archive before updating' option in Preferences.

Shut down Impulse, re-booted computer, and still the same message. As I said, I think it's a checksum issue. That's the only thing that makes sense, given what I'm getting from the program.

Is there an error log in Impulse, and how do I access it?

Impulse/ upper right Help orb

Disable any active scanning apps and try the download/install.

Well, who would have expected to find the error log there? :) Anyway, here's what it says:

Message:    File downloaded is smaller than expected

C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Impulse\Temporary\DownloadQueue\fencespro\fencespro1.10.356.impulse

....and you tried that....correct?

Do you have "show pre-released versions" checked? Toggle it and see if any joy.

While you're there hit the 'Reset Data' button.

Curses. I just purchased Pro last night and all I get is the "File downloaded is smaller than expected" message. when I tray to install via Impulse. Very frustrating (Win7 Enterprise). I hope it's fixed soon. I'll check back tomorrow.
