Losing my Patience...

So I have a boxed edition of Elemental, and I've been enjoying version 1.09e so far, but today I decided to download the more recent 1.11 update. Whenever I clikc "Update" on Impulse, however, it starts downloading, gets to about 0.8% and then says "Download was smaller than expected." Every time I try this it gives me this message. I'm getting really frustrated now, and am losing my patience with this game so far. Can anyone help me out?

Did you try disabling your anti-virus for the duration of the download?

I too got errors updating, I had to uninstall and redownload/update the game fresh. Worked fine after that.

You should never have to do that.  OP's error message sounds like it's related to the update size bug.

I have been playing for some time with the new updates.... in all honesty i will be reloading my backup of 1.09e after this last game finishes. I find that i really miss the manna system in the old version.

Well I finally fixed the problem after a few hours of searching the interwebz, but seriously guys, configure your update software to be a bit more user friendly. People like me with short tempers don't like it!
