Increase explorer window font size

Being an old-timer I need to have skins with good visibility. This is especially important for the start menu and explorer windows. I have successfully adjusted the font size for the start menu  in SkinStudio but cannot find where to adjust the font for the explorer window. The WindowBlinds configuration does not adjust the explorer body text. I am using Windows 7 and WB 7.2. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

The explorer window, by itself, cannot be changed...it uses the default font identified for the blind.  The default font is used throughout the blind.  If you want to change that font size, keep it mind that all parts that use the font will have its size changed too.

Having said that, to change the font size in Skin Studio:  Select Change Skin fonts from the menu on the left.  Click on the fonts listed there and look on right to see which font applies to Background (Explorer)....there will be a lot of parts of the blind listed there as well....all of these parts will change.  Click the Change Font button.  In the new window that pops up, there is a drop down box with a number in it...that is the font size...click on that, and choose the size you want.  Click OK to back out of that window.  Be sure to save your changes.

Your reply is greatly appreciated. I have used your advice and have managed to improve the background font size/visibility on several of my favorite skins. However this is not quite so simple, as you pointed out, as many areas are negatively affected. The  final result revolves around a compromise. The best approch is to correct the system font first and then to go to the start menu.

A genuine cry for help with a recently purchased skin was  seen as criticism by the author and he replied with a leave it alone, this is how I designed it, attitude.

The skinning community is doing a great job and many skins are works of art but personal needs will require slight modification.

You can also increase the system DPI setting, but again, this may negatively impact some areas of a blind.

I'm glad this worked for you!
