Anti-Aliasing in IconPackager

Let me start by disclaiming that this whole post might be meaningless if I'm making an incorrect assumption about how WindowsXP treats icons...

But I'm supposing, at least from the look of things, that XP anti-aliases the edges of both desktop and folder-level (what you see in an Explorer or My Computer window) icons. This opens the door for some awesome and beautifully unique icons.

Does IconPackager (or will it in the future) support the anti-aliasing of hi-color or true-color icons in conjunction with WindowsXP? And if so, what method needs to be employed to get it to work correctly? Will an icon made with a transparency-mask, like the ones used in DesktopX, show up anti-aliased in IP? Are there plans to incorporate this if it's not already in place?

XP actually support 32bit Icons, (which is a 24bit bmp with a 8bit alpha channel) you can create these with almost any good graphics program, and you can use anti-aliasing to make them look smooth, but XP dose not anti-alias the Icons itself.

Oh. That makes sense. Thanks.

That being said, does IP support 32-bit icons? Will they look as good using IP as they do being run natively by WinXP?

IP will use the 32 bit Icons in XP, as far as I can tell, the only problem is that it dose not replace all the new system Icons in XP, things like My Pictures, My Music etc.. But most of these you can change esaly in XP by itself, I am useing IP on my RC2 Sytem and It is very useful.
