So I see a headline today that cranky old journalist Helen Thomas is going to be "working" or at least writing for a newspaper in Virginia.  I'm a bit surprised by this news since my own thoughts are that the only place that bitty should have a byline would be on her own hopefully completely ignored blog.  Just to be clear here, she should JUST. GO. AWAY.

I'm snickering a bit at the news that John Edwards was "written out" of his wife's will.  I wouldn't have written him out completely, but I understand her thoughts (I guess).  Personally I think she should very clearly have written him IN to her will.  She should have left him money to get a Scarlet A tattooed upon himself as large as possible.  While I can't claim to be a fan of hers (as I've noted in the past), I still feel sorry for her family though and I absolutely hate cheating in relationships, so I do understand how she felt in writing him out of her will.

The weekend approachs with me having some plans to go and see the remake of True Grit.  As someone that loved the original, I'm not sure what I'll think of this new version, but the reviews have been pretty positive and I am a fan of Jeff Bridges, so I expect I'll be happy with it.

I love your idea about Elizabeth Edwards!  Totally agree!

As for True Grit, I am with you. Big fan of the original.  That being said.......(no spoilers)

Jeff Bridges is outstanding as Rooster.  He carries the movie.

Matt Damon stinks as Le Boeuf

Hailee was no Kim Darby, but she made the role her own and won me over.

The crooks?  Well, since they were not a big part in either, they were just there (But I still like Duvall as Pepper best).

My Advice?  Just go and enjoy it.  it is not as good as the original, but it is a pretty good movie (especially since good westerns are hard to come by these days).
