WindowBlinds Trial GRRR!!!!

You guys sometimes.... goddamit!

Just wanted to report.

System is Win7 ultimate 64bit

Installed windowblinds 7 trial, fiddled a bit with it, then decided to uninstall. (works fine, but most themes aren't even good which is a shame, but anyways...)

The unwise app DOESN'T find the uninstall.log (not even dragging the log to the unwise.exe app) file so I had to uninstall the application manually from program files (x86), users folder, c:\windows, c:\windows\system32 and the registry entries. (by analyzing the uninstall.log)

A total pain in the butt so to say. Thanks for that!!! that was no good Stardock team.

BTW: tried to send this using the stardock support form and got a nice "There was a problem loading the page please try again later"

I'm not really angry, is just that....How can you have such a crappy installer for your flagship application? that's something that goes beyond any logic.

Best regards,

Matias.

I'm not sure why you had trouble uninstalling the trial version of WindowBlinds; I didn't. Try going to the WindowBlinds gallery and check out the skins. There are all kinds of excellent ones there that don't come with the trial version.

"Uninstall" should run well through "Impulse". Did you do it that way? If you did and had issues with it, please open a ticket at support@stardock.com . They should be back to work today and will have "catch up" lag from all the holiday issues, but be patient and you will get the personal touch.

Why is it so many have problems with these programs? I run W7 home premium 64 bit. I did the trial version. Install and uninstall when the trial was over and that without using Impulse. Use Revo uninstaller. http://www.revouninstaller.com/  Cleans all remaining traces of any app I uninstall. BTW ... even with Impulse installed you can still install and uninstall Stardock programs without it. I know ... I've done it. Just my two cents.

The Revo Unistaller can clean too deeply, Uvah. It can harm links to other SD software, which you might not have installed and therefore are not seeing.

I would recommend using CCleaner (now much improved and expanded) if such an additional program is needed, but believe a ticket should be opened with Stardock Support.

Appreciate the input Doc. I've been using Revo for a long time now. Used it when I had the WB trial, Fences, Iconpackager, CursorFX, Tweak7, Sysmetrix and Rainlendar. The only ones I don't have is IP and WB installed. Never had any problems with links to other apps. I also use CCleaner, the new and improved version. But I do agree with opening a ticket with Support. Thank you for reminding me.
