New user having problems - Please Help

So i tried windowblinds by downloading the trial version and got some skins from WinCustomize. It worked well and I thought great I will buy it. Installed bought version of Windowblinds 7.0 through Impulse. Now my skins are not working - no changes are made to taskbar and start menu, icons look crap, skins definately do not look the same as in trial version. Does anybody have ideas? I am a new user and there probably is a setting of some sorts that I don't know about.

I am running windows xp home edition

Thanks

The main error new users have is not uninstalling the trial version prior to installing the new version. It's in the directions but many people miss it.

My suggestion....

Uninstall Windowblinds (both version)

REBOOT (important)

Reinstall Full version Windowblinds

REBOOT BEFORE running (important)

Run Windowblinds

OK...here we go. Roll up your shirtsleeves.

1. Did you uninstall the trial version through Impulse?

2. Did you revert to your baseline XP theme theme before uninstalling?

3. You need to download CCleaner and run it to clean up the remains of the trial version...

4. Do you have any recent restore points?

*edit... go ahead with Lantec's suggestions first. BUT, uninstall the Windowblinds through Impulse.

Thank You Mate. I uninstalled the trial version and re-installed the bought version and it works. Now need to find some themes.

don't think this is a requirement or even possible. the trial version is available on cnet and not through stardock/wc. In responding to another post I did some checking to see if Impulse was required for the trial version or even availabe through impulse, it does not appear to be.

Yes. Uninstalling with Revo or CCleaner is acceptable.
