BLIND city upgrades

Why is it, that when my city upgrades, I cannot see a summary of it's production? Furthermore, why can't I see what the LAST upgrades were?

My workaround has been to add Tech/Arc/Gold to the end of every city name, but I'd be thrilled with a summary and upgrade history in the UI instead. Not that an empire of HillyTech, ChokepointArc, and ForestGold isn't thematic. It's just not the theme I'd prefer.

Most of the time when your city levels up, look at the bottom of the screen. It usually gives a list of the things the city produces. Although I have noticed sometimes it doesn't, depending on what's going on (it seems to fail when there are a lot of popups).

Game shouldn't ever use blocking popups anyway. Promotions like the unit promotions in Civ IV is a much much better idea.
