Control Panel -> User Accounts pops up every time I hit the Start button

Hi folks,

Forgive me in advance if this has been posted before, but the "search forum" button is inexplicitly a no-op on my browser. I installed MyColors on Windows 7 Starter (on an Asus Eee Netbook) merely to allow me to set my desktop image (NB: odd that MS made this a "pay for" feature). Works great except every time I hit the Start button, the Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts  window pops up offering to allow me to change my already-Administrator account..... meh??  Nothing I wish to change so I just dismiss the window - nothing more than an irritation but... constant.

Anyone else seen this and/or know how to fix?

Thanks!

Are you using a right vertical taskbar configuration?

It may be a Windows 7 Starter/MyColors thing. Since Starter is not a target OS I don't think Stardock does much testing on it.

Sure. I just mentioned the right vert taskbar thing because I know that with certain skins, the user pic sometimes partially covers the startbutton in that config (it's why I often do an substyle without the user pic on my skins).

2of3: As a matter of fact, I am using a right-side vertical bar since these 10" netbooks are so....  vertically challenged real-estate-wise. But the Start button appears fully accessible in the upper right-hand corner. What's the issue you're thinking of?

(5 min. later...)

I moved the task bar back to the more traditional position along the bottom and... voila! Issue is gone. I set the taskbar to 'auto-hide' to get the vertical real eatate back most of the time... that'll do. Thanks, 2of3!

End of quote

When on the right vert position, the startbutton occupies the same area normally reserved for the user pic (it's a Windowblind setback that the user pic area seems to "hug" the taskbar and one can inadvertently open the user settings when using that configuration).

I hope your solution is one you can live with B)
