Views of a New Player with Patch 1.1

Hi,

I just started playing Elemental today, so forgive me if something I say is incorrect. I'm actually finding Elemental pretty fun, but there are some things I was wondering about and ideas I think would be nice if included.

1. Do Sovereigns live forever?

2. How do you marry off offspring's, can they marry regular NPC's like the Sovereign?

IDEAS:

~NPC's~

I think that the NPC's that give bonuses to your cities, like 20% food production or whatever should become "part" of the city, instead of another character that the player can control. Kind of like CIV when you use "great people" they are "consumed" by the city.  One reason I think this would be better is because I find that its a hassle buying and upgrading weapons/armor for lots of people. But I don't want to not get them, because they give good bonuses. There could be two categories for NPC's, NPC's like Farmers, Merchants, and so forth would become part of the city when the join you, other NPC's like assassins, adventures and so forth would join you the same way it works now. I would like to hear your what you guys think...

~Research~

This may just be me, but I find research takes way to long, but that's not really a big issue. I would just like to see it a little faster.

~Starting Weapons / Armor~

Can you sell them? I don't think you can, so is there a reason you can't. Would be nice to clear them from my inventory.

* Will add more as I play.

1. Yes

2. You marry off Offspring by researching Dynasties in the Diplomacy Tree and then talking to another faction. There you have the option of selecting possible matches. The married couple will then randomly join you or the AI.

End of Dsraider's quote

 Thanks!

1. Well I think that is a shame really, would love for them to grow old a die, and then pass to the nearest oldest son, or daughter if no son is present. Or the ability to choose who would succeed said Sovereign when he / she dies.

2. So you can't marry common folks, okay... thanks.

When marrying, it used to be that your daughters would go to the other faction, but sons would stay at home and the other factions daughter would join him.  Has that changed?
