What the map editor can deliver?

Hi

I have been trying to figure out the map editor recently. It seems the random map generator refuses to generate single continent?

Anyway, i am happy to use the saved maps. When i loaded a saved map, it opened with a good number of visible start locations. I tried to delete the ones i did not want but all my clicking had no effect at all, so how?

Then the next time i opened the same map for another try, all the start locations are gone or invisible??

My ultimate goal is to design a large map with 2 AI opponents restricted to one half of the map with a choke point in the middle. My kingdom will expand only on the other half but i will raid goody huts as much as possible on the AI half! I want to have a heavy resource seeding, especially the start locations. Then i will let the AI grow and become strong on their half while i advance my technology and unit strength until i am ready to test them in a massive conflict at the end.

Can the map editor deliver this?

The map editor in the game? Of course you can make any map you want. I don't understand why you are having trouble.

You can craft almost anything you want. But the random generator won't give you anything work crap. You will have to craft it yourself.

Building maps is oft more fun than playing them.

I know i can add hills etc but It seems to be the starting locations which i cannot add or delete, they completely ignore everything i try to do?

Sometimes I've noticed it's a bit wonky. I've had it happen too, but it's actually working. (You ARE right clicking right? :P ) I noticed that if I zoom in and out a few times between cloth map mode and 3D mode, it shows up.

I found out it is a delay in updating the map, so when you make changes, they actually can take a number of minutes to show up! It seems to be anything represented with one of those shiny letters that does it, IE start locations and random quest and notable locations.

Anyway, i built my map successfully, and have been enjoying playing it emensly all weekend! Thanks all.
