If you update to a new version and see and increase in issues, one of the most overlooked culprits are old user files.

What do i mean? Custom sovs, units and factions should be deleted and remade after the initial update.

\My Documents\My Games\Elemental

Applicable user Content is in Mods, race, and units folder

You should not continue save games that were started with a previous version.

If you have remade user files after the update, and have not been loading a previous versions save then refer to normal support channels.

Thank you.

Changed my double post in order to try to make this clear to people.. Would be great if it were made clear in the changelog posts or made a sticky here though.. then you can delete it. Or if something I posted is incorrect feel free to modify it.

A little late to post a Beta Testing Guide, that specifies what is should be done to facilitate testing (Starting a new game with a new version, No mods, no custom race/sov, custom Maps, etc.).

Guide lines (do/don't) should have been in a Beta Tester Readme.txt for each Beta release!

It applies to those who are going from 1.09e to 1.1 as well. Which is why I posted it. Many of those who decided not to beta test will be far less familiar with this issue since its been a LONG while since an official patch went out.

Unless of course impulse does this on its own.. then delete this post as its just wasting space.

End of Sanati's quote

Ya it deleted those but left mods.. <_<

Mine was a minor xml mod so i had no issues with deleting it but I can understand why they chose to not have them delete those.

If it makes you feel anybetter i get about triple the number and frequency of crashes in 1.1 i did in 1.09e.

If i could i'd delete this thread :annoyed:
