[1.09v] BUG: Janusk Portrait/Specialization Changes after reloading

Hello. This has been happening consistently for the past versions. It's happened with Empire and Kingdom starts.

 

I'm not sure if Janusk is meant to be a merchant at all times. But occasionally he'll spawn with different portraits and usually a tech specialist specialization. There is no problem when he starts with the usual merchant / redhead portrait; however, upon reloading games he will always default to that portrait regardless of which combination one he started with and will remain with the default for future saves.

The only debug lines I saw that could influence this are these:

 

Debug Message:  WARNING: CUnitType Janusk leaked - refs: 4

Debug Message:  WARNING: No cutscene of internal name  found, using subpack type name 

 

I haven't seen mention of this in any other thread. I'm wondering if this is normal behavior?

  Jansk's values are randomized so he isn't supposed to be anything in particular.  You are running into a known issue where unit portraits revert to the base unit type portrait.  But that won't be fixed until after 1.1 (it is on the post 1.1 list) because we have to redo the way unit portraits are referenced.

How about the bug where I get multiple versions of Janusk in the same game, I had 10 Janusk's recruited in one game.

It's not only a portrait issue. I had the same problem and my Janusk went from a researcher (+1 tech) to a merchant (+1 gold) on reload.

I had this happen with Vaenia (a merchant hero). I got 5 of him in about the first 15 or 20 turns in a game I started tonight.

I've been playing with Janusk off. But to help with answers I've heard that Vaenia is basically Janusk that you don't get at beginning when you have Janusk turned off. I assume you don't have Janusk advice selected Starcrunch?

Nope I've got Janusk and he's set to give me advise, which he does. Wasn't really aware you could shut him off.
