Personal Teleportation Vs. Army Teleportation

Someone mentioned this in another thread, and I thought it was worth mentioning. Teleport is still really, really effective considering what it does, what it costs, and when you can get it.

So the idea is make Teleport self only. Add a new spell: Mass Teleportation. Make it....level 5 or 6. Make it cost x per unit, where x is something like 5 to 10 mana. Teleporting an entire army should be a big deal, it should be a big feat of magic, and require a lot of mana and plenty of research.

Absolutely.

Personal Teleport only until at LEAST level 6-7, and even then having a significant mana cost per unit, and perhaps even a turn or two lag in casting.

Personally, although I don't dislike the idea, I would prefer to have Teleport being limited in range. Instead of being "go anywhere in your ZOC", I'd prefer it to be "go anywhere in a range of X". And that the spell could be empowered by spending extra mana to increase that range (would need some visual feedback to know the range and how it increases by each empowered mana used).

I tend to use channeler armies (if you thought that forcing me to waste all my action points for casting a single spell would stop that, you are wrong). As Teleport is now, I would only need some meatshields awaiting for me in my destination point while my champions teleport there one by one. Even if the other city is in the other corner of a huge map.

I'd prefer that too Wintersong. I'd prefer a lot of mechanics in Elemental scale by factors of x. (Just as the spell suggested is powers of x.) MoM had a lot of that going on and I really enjoyed it. Sadly I think that's probably going to have to wait until Stardock feels like getting experimental again. As stated I think this spell (sorry if i missed the other threads) is pretty easily achievable.
